Mike Zimmer is the Cabinet Director for Governor Rick Snyder. As Cabinet Director, Mike assists with the coordination of programs and initiatives among and within Michigan’s executive branch departments and agencies.Prior to being named Cabinet Director, he was the Director for the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA). As Director, he oversaw the administrative operations of LARA as well as assigned oversight of the Michigan Office for New Americans, the Office of Regulatory Reinvention, and the Office of Reinventing Performance in Michigan. In addition, he was the Director of the Office of Good Government. Mike has served in a variety of other positions with state government in Michigan during his career.Mike earned a bachelor's degree from Michigan State University and his Juris Doctor from George Washington University.
